Company History

O'Reilly Transport Ireland Limited was established in 1972 at Newry, Co. Down by the present managing director Eugene O'Reilly and his wife Virginia. The company started out life as a sole trader and was later established as a limited company. O'Reilly Transport Ireland initially commenced business with one second hand articulated vehicle, two second hand forty foot flat trailers and two furniture removal vans. This first articulated vehicle was driven by Eugene O'Reilly himself.

The company initially carried out furniture removals for a short period but it was decided to cease this service and concentrate solely on general haulage. The company currently operates a fleet of more than one hundred tractor units and almost five hundred trailers and growing. Initially the company operated from Newry Co.Down Northern Ireland but in 1982 we moved operations to Dundalk, Co.Louth, Republic of Ireland.

In 1996 we then moved operations from Dundalk to a multi million euro purpose build facility at Dublin Port where all our administration, accounts, fleet maintenance and VTN testing is now carried out. O'Reilly Transport operates from Dublin, Ashbourne, Warrenpoint, and Heysham.
